Brian Heck, Founder and Partner, started the firm after almost a decade of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) experience with ResCare and 5 years with Stoneridge Partners, a leading Lower/Middle Market M&A advisory firm.
Prior to founding Moro Partners, Brian was a Partner at Stoneridge Partners where he added Behavioral Health services to Stoneridge’s prior expertise in Home Health and Hospice.
Brian’s corporate experience came from ResCare, where he was hired as an analyst, and was quickly promoted to run the M&A analytical team; soon after, he was also tasked with all prospecting and pipeline building. Before leaving ResCare, Brian served as Vice President of Business Development. In this position, he was responsible for all M&A activity from prospecting to close, as well as, leading the 50 member cross-discipline Integration Team for each deal.
“The various sizes of transactions not only helped me understand the seller’s needs,” explains Brian, “but, who the best buyer may be for that business.”
During his tenure at ResCare, Brian worked on approximately 70 closed transactions in the ID/DD and home care space, taking the company into several new states through platform acquisitions. The deals ranged in revenue size from $500,000 to over $40 million. Brian credits his experience of working the full gamut of the deal process on hundreds of potential transactions, and the various sizes of transactions, with helping him understand the seller’s needs and who the best acquirer may be for that business.
Before joining ResCare, Brian performed audit work for the federal government and owned several small businesses. He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Masters of Business Administration from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY.
